What is a good source for lower profile sling swivels for a side by side shotgun. I have had sling swivels added to two shotguns by local gunsmiths lately and they both insist that the ONLY ones they can get are from Brownells and they are detachable and long stemmed and I think they look "unsightly", "ugly", "nasty" on a beautiful side by side! I am looking for BOTH front and rear swivels. Must be low profile like the older swivels you see on older, finer guns that have swivels, like on some Merkels I have handled. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

sxs--thanks for the link but he doesn't seem to have any swivels that you tap into the rib for the front swivel and drill into the stock for the rear swivel, and that is what I want. He mostly has slings. But thank you for the attempt!

Some flush mount swivels I have ever seen are by Pachmayr and Sunny Hill.

The second link, which are for flush mounted sling swivels, look like the ones I'm looking for to mount on the rib between the barrels. I emailed sunnyhill and asked just to make sure. Thank you for the links!!! The first ones are recessed style that go "into" the stock. Interesting concept that is not common but may be a viable route of I can't find the normal stock sling swivels. Thanks.

I think you'll have to customize your front mount for the barrel and use standard QD swivels, maybe thinning down something like this

I like those Pachmayr flush mounts that OB found for the buttstock.

I believe what you are really looking for are swivel bases. Brownells has several on page 101. If you look at Brownell's online, search for swivel bases. These can be used with QD swivel loops that stay with the sling, so there is not much on the gun with the sling removed.

Yes I found 3 different swivel bases on my search on Brownells made by Talley: One is even called European swivel bases... and all look like they would be low profile and leave virtually nothing on the gun... however I do want a short stem on the sling as well so that when I attach the sling there is NOT a long stem hanging down like I see on most QD sling mounting hardware (and like what my local gunsmith's put on my beautiful doubles boo hoo) They look like afterthoughts or like someone was not thinking aethetics but just function. But thank you for the heads up. I guess I may need to fire my gunsmiths for not finding a low profile swivel base and sling assembly for my leather slings on my doubles. BTW---Sunnyhill emailed me back and said the sling bases in the sunnyhill link above would NOT work on sxs barrels.
