What is a good brand of screwdriver for working on shotguns? I have three Parker Trojan guns and a few misc. American and European guns. Can I buy a set that will fit Parker screws, or must the tips be reground to fit? Thanks, Pete

Pete, I don't have a set yet, but from what I've read these screwdrivers should take care of most guns, and are made very well. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Wheeler-89-Piece...1QQcmdZViewItemI know they make them in a few dilfferent sets, the 72 pc. set goes for $59.99. I have been grinding my own, but these are harder and looks like you can get more torque without stripping out or breaking/bending reground ones.

Pete, I use the Brownells magna driver and have added/replaced tips as needed. Their thin set of tips is great for some of the guns I work on. Some tips will always end up being ground. I have custom ground tips for Brownings which sit in a box of their own - so I don't grind them again for something else.

Here is the set I use and it is awesome. It has thinner blades than any set I have seen. I highly recomend it. Battenfield

Brownell's thin bit set, its great! If a bit breaks, they replace them for free. I have used them for years.

Brownells happens to be the Wheeler set like the ones on ebay for $20.00 less than Brownells.

I have a set of the "Apex" type hex bits and handled screwdriver from Chapman Manuf. in N. Caro. They are brittle and I don't care for the large dia. reciever end of the handle because it doesn't get into close quarters and tends to get in contact with things it shouldn't. I find myself resorting to a cheap Stanley insert screwdriver handle with a thinner shell at the business end and sets of those Tru-Valu bargain table insert bits in the little rubber holder (usually several common bits in there along with Torx and Star and Phillips 1, 2, and 3s which I can readily loose, wear out, or break at work in a cordless). They grind just as well and don't fracture readily. I'm not touching 30K shotguns with them and I wouldn't recommend that anyone save a few dollars and do so but they work for me.
