I was wondering if anyone was using these loads in their vintage guns. I have a couple boxes that I was hoping were low pressure. They are a #7 shot, weight is 24gms. 2 1/2" WRC 247. I`ve contacted the web site and they have no idea.

I shot some of their 2 & 1/2 12 guage loads....I don't recall thinking they were low pressure.

My Westley Richards Classic Game Cartridges are 28gms in weight, and I find them a little stiff.
No they're not low pressure imho.

There's an article in a past Double Gun Journal about shooting 2.75" shells in 2.5" chambered guns. According to the article, there may be very small pressure increase, other then that about all it will do is tear up the end of the shell. If your looking for low pressure loads I'd try Winchester AA Low Recoil/Noise shells or Xtra-lites.
Another thing, it's been my understanding that the British proof house does not consider a gun out-of-proof if you simply extend the forcing cones. Based on that, instead of extending the chambers on several of my 2.5" chambered guns I've just extended the forcing cones (with a FC reamer purchased from Brownells). I still use low pressure shells, only now it doesn't tear up the when I shoot the gun.

Look on the box for CIP. If it's there they are low pressure. Mine from 4 years ago are CIP compliant.

No, I don`t see any clp on the box. The serial # is pretty low if that might tell anything. 000000294 & 000000299

Then I'd say they were loaded to US specs not European. If so, the pressure is high.
