I dunno but I think he should sell that gun and spend his money on some indoor plumbing. That toilet looks like it would be cold at night.

Looks darn close to my Nitro Special, except for the locking lever there.....no bullseye pattern on it.

That toilet does look cold...a tad sharp too...nothing i want to set my rump on. High possibility of getting blasted in the process of making a deposit also. Again, not for me.

However he does appear to have a sink/mirror/counter indoors with lighting so he's half way there! I thought i even spied a toothbrush in there.

Most certainly a Nitro Special if the bullseye pattern is on the left side of the top lever face. How do I know? Because your serial number is over 100,000 and I have one just exactly like it --- mine is a 20 ga. 28" bbls. chokes marked 2 (Rt.) and 4 (Left). Bought mine at a gun show a few years ago for $275 and thought I was getting riped off. Nowadays I see these Nitro Special 20's selling for $800 and up. So I guess I got a fair deal. Enjoy your old Nitro Special. Chopperlump

Dace, I forgot to add that your Nitro Special has a forged steel frame. It was the cheaper version called the Western Long Range Arms gun that had the cast, maleable frame. Also, my gun is numbered 44 guns later than yours. Good shooting --- andno steel, please. You really ought to get Walt Snyder's excellent books on the Ithaca guns. He checks in to this board from time to time and is a very helpful guy with an unsurpassed knowledge of the Ithaca guns. Chopper

Ithaca "Lefever Arms Corp." made Nitro Specials with a number of different distributor names. Then about 1932-33 they consolidated as the Lefever Arms Branch of Ithaca Gun Co. and from then on they advertised that they didn't make their guns under any other names for mail order houses.

I really am going to have to pick up the book. I keep reading about it.

The bloke who owns this shotgun broke the stock while shooting slugs out of it. Thats why he was trying to find the model. He has been searching for a suitable replacement stock. I have let him know what kind of gun he has.

Thank you everyone for confirming the little research I did.
