With all the talk lately about Stevens guns, I found some info that
might be helpful to those who own one or the many variants. While
sifting through some of my old books on gun values, I found this
listing of mfg. date codes. This applies only to guns made from
1949 to 1968. During this time Stevens used a letter in a circle to
show date of mfg. Apparently they used a number code also, but
nothing is known about this. These letters are stamped either above
the hinge pin or just in front of the trigger guard.
A-1949 B-1950 C-1951 D-1952 E-1953 F-1954 G-1955 H-1956 I-1957
J-1958 K-1959 L-1960 M-1961 N-1962 P-1963 R-1964 S-1965 T-1966
U-1967 V-1968
