Shucks, I was just kidding.

I've worked with some people, for years, who were known to be the most crooked people around....and then found out they were faithful, devout church goers. Go figure.

Greg Sy, there are several kinds of people in church - true Christians having committed to following Christ; those who are learning and growing into Christians; unrepentant hypocrits in it for what they can get; and those Satan has placed in attempts to destroy the church. Hard to tell the difference at times but don't worry - God will sort them out! Just don't try generalizing that they are all the same or use it for an excuse not to be there yourself. Many are called, few are chosen.

Jerry, I couldn't have said it better. I've seen some people that are regular church goers that sit by the back of the church and when it is getting close to the end the leave early so that they don't have to wait in the long car line. These are the same people if someone cut them off leaving the church lot, they would use the Lord's name in vain or worse.
So I agree with you.

Oh, I'm not saying they're all that way - just that being a churchgoer doesn't make you automatically good.

Sounds like Ken is about to put his shoes on and someone is going to get the boot. I am out of here. Hate to see a violent act unless I have money on the thing.

Anyone who defense the Wind River or whatever they want to change their names to needs to be suspect in my book. Too many people tell the same fact filled stories to all be a myth. This person has lost the benefit of doubt long ago.

Mr. Cherry Bomb,
I am responding to your post in order to give you some "first person" facts about my experience with Mr. Williams and Wind River Rifle Inc. of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

On July 2, 2007, I received 2 each Winchester barrels, one frame, one tang, 2 each lifter blocks from Mr. Williams to be re-engraved. I returned the parts back to Mr. Williams on July 6, 2007. Mr. Williams wanted this job done ASAP and so I accomodated him and completed the work in 4 days. I worked over the July 4th holidays in order to meet Mr. Williams needs. I paid $25.00 to have the parts shipped back to Mr. Williams. The work was accepted and met Mr. Williams approval.

I have not received any payment for this job . . . not even a thank you. I have received several excuses. Do any of these sound familiar to any of you who have done work for Mr. Williams????

1. The check is in a box that is going to include additional parts I am sending you for you to engrave.
2. The check got lost . . . I will cut another one and get it right out.
3. I lost your mailing address.
4. My son mailed the check . . .haven't you received it???
5. You over changed for your work. (This was the excuse several months after I kept calling Mr. Williams trying to get my much needed money)
6. The check is in the mail.

I mailed another statement March 1, 2008 that was sent by registered mail with a signature receipt required. The statement was delivered to Mr. Williams and the signature request card from the post office was signed and returned to me verifying that my statement did indeed deliver to Mr. Williams and Wind River Rifle Inc.

I guess the check is still "in the mail". I am expecting it any day now. Heck, I might receive additional monies from Mr. Williams to cover the finance charge - - - - RIGHT!!!!!

Cherry Bomb ---- I can verify what Mr. Ellis said. We only live a few miles apart and have been close friends for quite some time. Also, I have seen the work done on the afore said pieces & it was well done & grossly under charged !

After reading all the post re. this matter, do you still have a problem with many of us warning others ? We are not "chicken little" yelling that the sky is falling. Ken

Mr. Ken, I went back and looked and sure enough, there was a smiley face smiling at me. Apologies for invoking your good name.

Now, my curiosity gets the better of me and I have to ask you a question, Mr. Ken. Have you ever engraved a smily face on a gun? I've never seen one, but as wide spread as the use is, seems someone would have ordered one.
