Frank: I was out to our hunt club yesterday, we are having a new well drilled. I saw a flock of 25 turkeys, the Toms were strutting big time. At least 20 deer were feeding with the turkeys. Our marsh is just unfreezing and I pushed 200 ducks, mostly mallards, pintails wigeon and woodies. As I was watching our well driller two Bald Eagles soared overhead. They must have been fishing in our marsh. The outdoor life is grand and mother nature put on quite a display yesterday. Nice pictures Frank, they are great birds.

The mosquitos in South Georgia are as bad this year I can remember. I hope it means our drought has broken. I have appreciated my Thermo-cell bug confuser so much I'd kiss the folks responsible for inventing them.
The turkeys are going full blast right along with the skeeters though, so I couldn't be happier with the situation down here...Geo

What is this thermo-cell bug confuser you speak of? Sounds VERY high-tech. Are you allowed to shoot a 100+ year old AH Fox while wearing one of these gadgets? Oh yeah...Do they cause cancer or sea sickness or future babies to have birth defects and 2 heads?Seriously, I don't recall ever seeing one of these.

But I did see 12 turkeys in my cornfield yesterday. Just 3 more weeks and....kaaaaboooom! Got 2 last year, so I'll probably get skunked this year.

They have been everywhere here the last few days. Today we saw a whole flock of them flying over the freeway.

Ironman, if you have a skeeter problem, the thermo-cell is your salvation. Google it if you really haven't seen one. Yeah, it probably does cause cancer and birth defects, but I better be through having children anyhow. As for high-tech, do you remember the citronella spiral candles you used at the drive-in theaters? I think it fits in just fine with the BRNO sidelock I've been carrying this season...Geo

No turkeys hereabouts, but this morning when I got up there was a pair of mallards paddling around in my swimming pool (I have a tiny back yard surrounded by a 6-foot block wall--not a nature preserve by any means). They seemed quite content until my cat Hairy just HAD to flush 'em!
