Decock (pull triggers on snap caps). Cranked tierod protruding left lock leftie loosie to remove. If lockplates are not "varnished" in by resonified lube/finish, the small tierod once unthreaded may be enuf to push out the right lock. If so, small dowell or similar inserted from right side thru inletting may push out left lock without damage. If you meet resistance, a light shock (tapping against padded surface) in the area of the action bar (forward end of lockplate) may loosen the locks. Do not pry them out! as damage faying wood will ensue. Remove triggerguard tang screws, lift tang clear of mortise and rotate (again leftie loosie) to unthread stud forward of triggerguard bow. Remove hand (under triggerguard) and wrist (under toplever) pins (machine bolts). Pull stock directly to rear.

edit: You may want to know more about how to get the lockwork engaged with the cocking levers and clear of the trigger blades later.

Jack and Al, I would remove the locks COCKED, otherwise you'll have to cock them
outside, by hand, before being able to put them back on.

Believe JC is correct, Al; I've forgot more than I ever knew because I was certainly advised of that very point when I asked the same question. Sorry for the bad advice!

It's pretty easy to recock the hammers if they're inadvertently tripped while out of the gun. You may want to do so to see the operation. I had the bridle off one lock and the sears out so of course I had to do so. Fast-fading memory is the bane of the one-time tinkerer.
