I know the picture is small and not that good, I am working on getting better ones, but do these colors look original to you?

I would say no, very hard to duplicate, only a few can do it. I believe it has to do with using bone charcoal. Your picture: An original factory:

They look pretty original from here,...not much difference from it and the picture posted by JWD,....but I've been wrong before!

The taste of poor quality lingers long after the cheap price is forgotten.........

In your picture, I was able to enlarge it but the dpi was too low for it to stay clear. If you look at the picture I posted you will see yellows, orange, tan, and different flowing hues, that I didn't see in yours. I could be wrong, but there seems to be only blues, a clearer larger picture would help.

John Gillette of Classic Guns Inc. has a photocopy of the original LC Smith protocol , step by step as how to color case the actions. This guide was used to insure each action was color cased identically. He uses the same materials and steps when coloring an LC. Ken

I've seen original Smith's where the blue color seems to dominate and others where the yellows, oranges, and tans are more prevalent. And of course, everything in between. It also appears that the colors don't fade at the same rate over time and exposure to sunlight, wear, etc. The case seems to go before barrel bluing and stock finish, so if there are no traces of those having been refinished, it may be safe to assume the case is also original. As Mr. Hurst pointed out, there are gunsmiths who specialize in duplicating original colors, so just because they match an original gun doesn't mean they are original. Look for more vibrant color in the hidden areas of the water table and forend iron.
Voting for anti-gun Democrats is dumber than giving treats to a dog that shits on a Persian Rug
