I was curious as to where the Fox factory was in Philly and Google Earth'd it (4600 block of N. 18th St.). There appears to be a park on the east side of the street and a few industrial buildings on the west side. Is that the old original buildings from the Fox plant?

Looks abandoned? Trash & debris in the back, few or no cars anywhere around.

The park is Stenton Park and was littered with tiny ziplock plastic bags when I was there taking pictures of the old factory in 1986!! Not many Germans left in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. The original gun factory is the part with the grey roof touched by the word Traffic. That factory was built in late 1903 for Philadelphia Arms Co. The original A.H. Fox Gun Co. factory was at the corner of Wayne & Bristol Streets, and was a vacant lot when I was there. AHFGCo. moved into the factory at North 18th & Windrim in late 1906. The part with the black roof was pictured on the cover of an early 1930s Fox Co. fishing reel catalogue.

Here are some pictures of the factory from 1913 when the railroad was remodeling the grade thru the area --

So, of those pictures, which buildings still exist? Does anyone have pictures of buildings as they exist today?

I took pictures in 1986, but they are 35mm slides. Keystone Cable was in the the old gun factory building at that time. Fox Products Co. had actually operated until 1980 according to McIntosh. Don't recall who was in the other buildings of Fox Products in 1986 when I made my pilgrimage.
