I did a search and haven't been able to find the topic addressing the patterning program you can use to run digital photos thru to obtain densities/percentages. If some one could point me to the info, I'd appreciate it! Maxey

That is what I'm using. MB - there is some technique involved and I still have some things to try. Please post any results you can share. This is a very powerful tool.

About six years ago I set up a couple old rusty steel furnace fuel tanks at 40 yds and whitewashed them so I could take a digital picture of the patterns. A friend who was a Geographic Information Systems guru said he could quite easily analyze the hits with various superimposed layers. Got busy with other things and never pursued it. Nice to see someone has done it.

Dr. Andrew Jones's program is great. It willhelp us resolve a bunch of age old patterning questions when we get it in common use.
