tag says model 75. maybe, maybe not. haven't been able to verify that. what it is: chopper lump, 27.5" bbls, SLE, doublt triggers straight hand, disc set strikers, vented fences, case hardened, checkered butt, abt 90% coverage engraving that's NOT hand cut. very, very bland wood but part of that is a brownish orangey varnish. no cocking indicators, no drop points. otherwise abt xlnt w/ some rack rash but shows very little use and is tight. is obviously not a really high quality double. nowhere near a garbi 100 or aya #2 but that being said, it's not a bad gun either. can't find anything remotely similar that's closed on gunbroker or auctionarms either. price is well under $1k. the wood finish alone makes it a rather homely gun but once you get past that it isn't so bad.
any idea of the value? notice i said "value". as in what it's worth. not what one similar gun somewhere might have sold for on one occasion, which is often misleading.
thanks roger

Roger, The Uggie boxlocks I've owned were all well made. For under $1k, I'd give it a go. Check the usual things and the fit for you.

Hi, for under 1k, that's a deal. I'd go for it. Uggies do have terrible finishes on their stocks. But, once that's stripped off and refinished there can be some very nice wood under that goop. I have a Grade IV Uggie which is basically the 75 and it has been a very good gun. No problems at all. These are your basic entry level SLE, but are fine in all regards. You may want to do a search here for more info: http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewforum.php?f=126&sid=754ca2b88ded164667103ae447aef551Good luck and if you don't want it - let me know! All the best! FN, Hard to say without a picture. Below I have attached a few pictures of an Uggie SLE I purchased about two years for $1275. While I am by no means an expert on these guns several folks that claimed to be be very knowledgeable on them indicated that they felt this was a very good deal. Hopefully, this will provide a general reference to use with regard to the gun you are considering. I believe it would be safe to say that for the price you are discussing if the gun is in good shape looks anything close to this one pictured below it would be a definite buy. JRH

Hi, JHR, yes indeed you did get a deal on yours!! Nice wood and looks to be in great shape. I'd be a happy camper with this one at that price!!
All the best!

JRH, this gun looks just like yours except the wood is so plain. no way to post pics since i don't own it and i doubt the dealer would be amenable to people coming in and photographing his guns. if it's still there when i get back from a trip i may grab it. i didn't even think to check the date code but i was skittish enough taking it down to look at the flats w/ security cameras everywhere.
now granted, just because 2 Spanish doubles from the same maker "look" identical, i realize they may not be. but this one sure seems to be, even the somewhat smallish diameter of the tumbler axles. wish the one i was looking at had a stock that nice. and under the orange varnish who knows, it might.
