I came across a 600 Ugartechea in 12 bore recently, and would be grateful for input as to gun's reliablilty/build quality. At $750, it seems like a decent buy. Particulars are Double Triggers, english grip, about 98% overall, with 28" BBLs choked Mod/Full. Thanks in advance for any input, or past experiences you would care to share about these guns.

I've had a few and been happy with them. I have a grade II right now and love it. It shoots very well for me. I'm not familiar with the model 600. Is it boxlock or a sidelock? Firing pins are sometimes soft but that's easy to fix. $750 doesn't go very far, these days. An 870 or an 1100 costs that much.

Thanks for the response. It's a boxlock, that looks a lot like the Grade 1 Lion Country Uggies, with extractors, case colored action, and splinter forend. Nothing fancy, but it seems to have decent balance and a weight just under 7 pounds.

It sounds like one of Parker Hale imports. They were all good and about as good modern knockabout as you're going to get for <1k. I use my BLNE (sg, sfe, 3" mag with 30" M/F tubes) as long killer.
