#10. You can trade an old 44 for a new 22.
# 9. You can keep one gun at home and have another for when
you're on the road.
# 8. If you admire a friend's gun and tell him so, he will probably let you try it out a few times.
# 7. Your primary gun doesn't mind if you keep another gun for a backup.
# 6. Your gun will stay with you even if you run out of ammo.
# 5. A gun doesn't take up a lot of closet space.
# 4. Guns function normally every day of the month.
# 3. A gun doesn't ask, 'Do these new grips make me look fat?'
# 2. A gun doesn't mind if you go to sleep after you use it.

And the number one reason a gun is favored over a woman....

# 1. YOU CAN BUY A SILENCER FOR A GUN

OT- but I also like very much what Kipling wrote in a 1888 wedding poem- "A thousand women like Maggie, are willing to bear the yoke, but a woman is only a woman, but a good cigar is a smoke"! Sorta like a black powder cap and ball Colt 1851 Navy!!

My favorite is still the quote John Wayne made in his movies, "Lord help us should they get the vote!" That just about says it all.

And #10 should be, "You can trade an old 44 for TWO new 22s. But being Denny Crane, I'll need three!

"You can trade an old 44 for TWO new 22s."
Reminds me of the one where the man told his 40 yr old wife he was going to trade her in for two 20 yr olds.
She just laughed and said, let me tell you up front, "You Ain't Wired for 220"

Every once in a while we all need a good laugh and some of the replys are good, I like Miller's, but we all have to remember one thing and it is a very old saying, "We can't live with them, but we can't live without them".
Those of us to have a "better half" that understand our passion and relationship with these inanimate objects, and our time spent out in the field with these things and our dog/s are very fortunate indeed.

I've given some thought to an answer to why so many relate guns with women, including nomenclature i.e. "fondle" etc and haven't found one. The women I know think it's kind of kinky. Seems odd to me.
