I recieved an email today offering a leather mutton case with all new AYA orders. Are the AYA guns as good of quality as the Parker repros? My price point puts me in between their 453 model and a model 2. The free case is nice - has anyone had experience with doubles and dogs?

I am unfortunately not an uninterested third party - but AYA guns are typically price fixed on new US imports. All models including #2 RA should be $5199.

By the way, that is a great deal on the cases if I do say so myself!

Actually, price fixing is quite illegal. The federal governement has seen fit to enforce this law on businesses that, to me at least, seemed too small to even be a blip on the radar.

In the USA a business can charge whatever sales price they see fit. Suppliers can have regulations on what prices are publicy advertised, but they have no legal authority or enforcement power. All they can do is affect supply issues-i.e. they can stop selling products or raise the wholesale rates.

A few years ago I ordered a AYA #1 custom made for me from an AYA dealer. I was able to negotiae about 10% below list price.
