Jim Marsh, previously noted, had fired his gun from the punt with blank loads at the Pte Mouilee Waterfowler Fest for many years. he was invited to a GLSXSA shoot in mid-Ohio, where he shot a fair-sized flotilla of balloon ducks from some distance. It looked like an instant lawnmower with a twelve foot deck went thru them. Then his four-bore breechloader was used to kill the remaining cripples. Movies and pics of this exist somewhere, so I'll drop a line to Jim and see if it can be arranged for on-line viewing.

Eugene, and other contributors: nice job. Lough Swilly in season, ain't no place for the timorous. Let alone the open sea, out of sight of land. Yet, that was common practice. Lots of sport there.
