Where do you order your parts and pieces from? Like V/leaf/coil springs, pins, screws etc? Raw stock to cut and file yourself? I found http://www.gunsprings.com, but they don't seem to have everything.

well you learn to make a lot of things, brownells has spring stock and wire stock, unfinished screws. a lathe is a big help.taps and dies. msc has a lot of supplies.good luck mc

Woolff Gunsprings in Newtown Square, PA will work with you to copy what you've got in a coil spring. They make replacement spring kits for revolvers and shotguns. They are congenial and fast.

You have to heat treat the springs/pins. Do you do that yourself?

MC does it himself....we learned together at TSJC, Len Bull and Dennis Potter can both show you how.

Silver- from MT. "The Treasure State" check my ad in the for sale forum section here- under the Parker checkered Butt section I also mentioned some parts from a Crescent sidelock hammer double- pins, set screws, coil springs (they didn't use V or leaf springs I think- I checked them all- threads clean, metal is "file hard" and I degreased and de-crudded everything- perhaps there is something in the "cigar box that might fit your project" if so, be glad to send them your way. Also have the receiver, bolt, top lever and the LH side plate and the forearm iron with latch intact-for any "project guns" extant. RWTF

http://www.onlinemetals.com/I found these guys just poking around the net. Probably more out there. Being in the middle of the Rockies up there, probably makes it a bit tougher to find things we take for granted in the city.

I wanted to go for the gunsmith's school this year. Unfortunately my wife wants to vacation somewhere else.
RWTF and Chuck H, I need a firing pin bushing.
It is a metric, M7 with .75 pitch outside thread. I thought of filing it out of an socket set screw after drilling the pin hole, but my local store did not have it...
I'll look around at Brownell's or MidwayUSA. Maybe MSC will have something close.
And that's only one thing...
