Yup-you are correct- I went to my Rule's Bible, yes- the .35 Whelen has to be a re-chambered 9x57-absolutely. I looked at a 1949 era M70 SuperGrade in .300 H&H Magnum last week-but it had been rechambered to .300 Weatherby Magnum (unknown to me or the seller who did it- but it was restamped on the barrel) and I went to my copy of the Grits and Tom Gresham book on Weatherby- he started rechambering BA rifles in .308 nom. bore to his "wildcat" .300 Magnum in the 1940's!If that SuperGrade was a .375 H&H Magnum I'd like to own it, but shell prices over the improved loads nowadays for the 30-06, and the better pricing on 30-06 ammo tell me- stick with what you can shoot well-RWTF
