I believe I'm correct that the Estates are basically the same as Federal Top Gun hulls, both being now made by Federal. I load these once, then toss them. The hull mouth will stand more than that, and I'm sure others load them several times, but I don't like to take too many chances with 2 piece hulls. Keith

I've reloaded Estate 12, 20, and 28's - my reloads worked fine for light practice reloads, usually about 4-5 times. They are now owned by Federal, so I would follow Federal recipes.

I would not reload them. I shot with a friend who reloaded 28 and .410 Estates. More then once the front part of the shell separated from the rear of the shell. He called them 'zingers' and re-shot the bird. The last time he did this was when the front part stuck in the choke area. Fortunately, he checked the bore. I hate to think what might have happened if he hadn't. It just isn't worth it for my money.

They CAN be reloaded, but as Walter says they are a poor choice and hardly worth the time. There isn't really any need to reload them around here, since the Remington Gun Club hull is available either free or nearly so in quantity.

As a few have posted so far, I to would stay away from them. First they have a fibre based wad. If you find hulls at a skeet range etc., you don't know if the hulls got wet or not. I've heard more than one time of the fibre wads and worse like Walter had stated getting stuck in the barrels. The only Federals to use would be the Federal Premiums, as I believe they are one piece.
Use the Remington Game loads, or Gun Clubs, cheap enough and have the same structure as the Remington Nitros, Premiums and STS. The only real difference is the premium shells have real brass heads and not plated steel and that applies to most manufacturers.

Hello Paul, The last shells fired through this gun were reloaded Estate 28 ga. shells.----Just in case you need a little more input. (no blood let). All we found was the back half of the shell.

My apologies Gil... I wasn't thinking, again...
I don't reload gauges smaller than 20, and sometimes I forget that these questions are largely aimed at those who do.
The Remington GC is, of course, 12 and 20ga only.

My recollection is that the Estate .410 has a plastic basewad. I have a small pile of the .410 once fireds.
