Paranoid? No kidding. Just look at those places: Foxcroft ME, NW Kansas, NH, Bigfork MT,.....Almost nothing ever happens in places like that. The biggest danger is dying from boredom. Gee boyz, ya watchin' to much BIG City Slicker TV!

These gaunt zombies are the first wave of many more to come. To beat down the good people of this good land is job #1. No good people, means no good land. ...and then, we're standing on the corner of the third world - watching the world pass us by.

Don't worry the destiny of all empires is to eventually crumble. We're going to be inching ever closer to the 3rd world level speaking Spanish of course. Any idea why Toyota, Honda,... has plants here? Third world baby!

I'm old fashioned and keep a WW1 fighting knife and a tomahawk that a friend made for me by my bed, Don't want to damage the antiques with bullet holes. I would not kill in defense of property alone.

Excellent choice of weaponry Barry-I hear the Army is moving away from the .50 Barrett "clones of the Browning Ma-Deuce" in favor a of a .338LUPA for our "assistance from a distance programs" but have gone back to the 1911-A-1 in .45 ACP over the Beretta 9mm sidearm- Browning was a genius-and ultimate reliability and stopping power are the hallmarks of any 1911-A-1 you can buy today-do you handload?? Instead of wasting tax money as usual they should just go with Glock in .45. It takes <$50 to make one. Why does American soldier need .45 when most of world militaries issue 9para? I can understand going away from that HEAVY to carry .50 for sniping. I hope they choose semiauto sniper weapon instead of a stupid bolt gun.

What in the world do you have the knife and tomahawk for then??? Maybe smash someones fingernail? And not wanting to kill in defense of property alone sounds good, but who knows when a home invasion turns south the villians get spooked and all of a sudden you are on the endangered species list. You might wish you had something more than a tomahawk to pitch at them. I guess what I'm saying is that I would rather bring a gun to a knife fight type of thing.

The "Fox," is too wrapped-up in the firepower of it all, not getting the picture - means he'll miss the big show. You gotta know who's who before you get your gun.

Yeah, I know it sounds crazy but I figure if they come up to the 2nd story where I am at then they mean to harm me and don't really care about my stuff and then things get interesting. I have been through this before and know that anyone that is sane and reasonable will not enter my house after hearing me or seeing me or knowing anything about me. I would not kill someone for just entering my house especially if they are unarmed. I have been through this in real life and looking down at someone you have just killed ...well believe me you want to be able to tell yourself you did not have any choice. You can't call a bullet back but within the confines of my house which I know inside out I feel a gun is not necessarily the best choice in every instance.I will concede that against an intruder armed with a gun that intends to do me harm and knows something about how to go about it that I will be at some disadvantage, but I know the terrain and I am probably stronger and better trained than anyone likely to come to hurt me and damnit I just want to use the "hawk".
