I think I have to agree with Jimmy. Pretty much any .410 SxS in good shape seems to be worth at least $500. I saw one 2 weeks ago- BOITO (sp?)Made in spain, sold by K-mart back in the 70's. It was in good shape, but everything I've ever read about those guns has been bad. Poor steel quality, internal parts break easily, impossible to fix etc.etc. I passed on the gun at $450 (thought the guy was smoking the good stuff) but 2 guys about knocked me over trying to get to it. One ole' boy damn near broke his wrist getting his money out. I would think that a Stevens in good shape should bring what your guy is asking. Good luck.
