I have a 10 bore Charles Daly hammergun with 32" barrels SN 162. There are no other markings whatsoever on the water table or barrel flats. The name Charles Daley is nicely engraved on both locks along with several arabesques. The full pistolgrip stock has a steel buttplate & gripcap. The barrels have a "dolls head" rib extension. The toplever action is scalloped w/ percussion fences & removable firing pins. The hammers are also engraved. The initials: "W.F.H." are engraved on the initial plate. The top rib is engraved: "Charles Daly, DAMASCUS BARRELS" & is fairly wide" 5/8 inch at the breech tapering to 7/16 inch at the muzzles. It is a very well built gun.

#1 - Is it a Linder?
#2 - What's the approximate age?

Best Regards, George

Sure looks like an early Lindner gun to me ~ circa 1880-1885

Crossed pistols over a crown stampings should appear on both barrels just ahead of the flats.

I have a similar one that is my preferred waterfowl gun with low pressure 10 gauge bismuth. Excellent gun. One that will never be for sale.

best regards,

I haven't shot waterfowl with my Lindner 8, but my Golcher-Linder 10 should be suitable for anything. Maybe this is the year I'll take her out for a test run.

Great gun Mr. Patton!! I wish I could find some Bizmuth myself for my 10 GA. Parker. Would be great to take her back on the Chesapeake.

I feel like a Peeping Tom. Hope Tim doesn't mind. Damn that is pretty. I never saw a buttplate like that before, or even a picture of one.

I've seen that buttplate on other guns a couple of M. Or W. Kirkwoods had them, and I believe that I've seen them on a Pape.

Before we all jump on the Lindner bandwagon I do not believe that he built this gun, he may have supplied a lot of the major parts.

Tim,

Please tell us everything about your gun. I like it a lot, that is one fine piece of workmanship.
