Neither of my Golcher-Linders have the Golcher marking on the water table. The ten is #1741, the sixteen is #1662. The ten has the normal Golcher name and address on the rib, followed by "Jerre Godwin, Owner". Apparently, Mr. Godwin was not the only owner. The gold shield on the stock is engraved with the initials C, H, and S, or G, H, and S, in equal size. This particular gun is almost certainly mentioned in a 1914 Lancaster Trigger Company testimonial from an owner on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. That owner's name is not mentioned in the testimonial.
