As one of the former owners of the Hammerless Donn Gun pictured in this thread, it is my view that this shotgun was produced by Lindner. It has all of the charecteristics of what one may generally see on a Lindner produced gun as well as "PRUSSIA" Stamp (no less than four times!) on the water table.

It is my understanding that the country of origin stamp was required on finished items/products. (for example, we don't see "Made in Belgium" on the finished damascus barrels used by various US makers) Why is it that there are no Lindner Crown or crossed pistols on the barrel? Short answer is Thomas Kilby was a barrel maker of some renown and the person that ordered this shotgun knew exactly what he wanted and in this case it was Kilby barrels. Lindners Serial number(?)of 1182 is on the barrels however and in my view is more evidence that the Donn gun was produced to spec by Lindner.

The other un-asked question here is if all of the "T. Gloucher", "Jos Jakob" (and other)retailer marked Daly guns have the Lindner Crown and or crossed pistol marks?

Does the recently pictured (on this board) Sauer patented (US patent 505006) barreled Daly have the Linder Crown and crossed pistol marks on them? (I'll bet not in this case) The point I am attempting to make, until I hear other wise is that the Lindner crown and or pistol marks might only be found on barrels produced and finished by Lindner.

Not trying to stir things up here but only the owners of Daly guns will be able to prove or dis-prove my theory of Linder produced and marked barrels by submitting all of their guns info to Ken Georgi, the keeper of the Linder/Daly research database!
