This discussion reminds me of the Savage vs Remington thread on Benchrest Central - "mine is the best.....no, no, mine is the best."
I'll probably be the only person that weighs in on the Gold Label that actually owns & shoots one. I bought mine at a 1/2 what they're going for now, new in the box, because I collect American made SxS's. When I first saw the prototypes at the Vintagers years ago, I know I was going to have one.
You have to remember: It's a 6 1/2 lb 12 gauge game gun. A trap gun it's not - just shoot a round of trap with 3 dram 1 1/8 oz loads & you'll regret it. Shoot skeet or sporting clays with light 7/8 or 3/4 oz loads & it's a pleasure. I could never understand why it has 3" chambers. Goose loads in a 6 1/2 lb gun?
Are there thing I would change on the Gold Label? Sure, but if & when a new version comes out, I'll be on the look out for the right deal to snatch one up. If the new one is 20 ga, fixed IC & Mod chokes, then they've been reading my mind.
