Bob, although most of these guys don't mention them, I will assume from experience that faster powders than Blue Dot can be used to assemble 1 1/4 ounce loads for game bird and clay target shooting. Think Unique in the same powder weight that is used in 12 gauge loads or slightly heavier in 1 1/4 ounce loads as long as the pressure can be kept up to the point where ignition is good and the sound is acceptable. Blue Dot in 1 1/4 ounce loads will give very low pressures in the eight gauge. Blue Dot is for heavy shot weights in loads for wildfowl. Bill Murphy
