I have spotted a nice origianl(looking to me)model 17.what else do i need to look at before i start my haggling? Purchase price was 225.00......so what do you'll think?
Battle:
17's are really cool. They're even a bit more streamlined and svelte than a 20 ga. M37, which is an appealing gun also. Does the gun you're looking at have a plain or solid rib? I think the early ones came with a plain buttstock and ringtail forend, late ones sometimes came with a checkered grip and forend. If Tim Frazier checks in, Tim is up-to-speed on all the variations. If I were you I'd grab that gun.
Awhile back, someone posted a pic of a graded 17.
