Does anyone have experience with waterfowl hunting with these guys? I am curious about the quality of the properties they have. Any advice would be much appreciated.

A couple of us looked into Wilderness Unlimited a few years ago, but they would not send us a list of properties until we signed and paid. That was a deal killer. We see their signs occasionally, and sometimes they are on places we used to hunt with some success.

I live in Southern California, Rancho Palos Verdes, and was a member for about 3-4 years 5 years ago. Wilderness Unlimited has a couple of waterfowl properties in Imperial County. One just NE of El Centro, and one NW of Calipatria, both have in place dugout blinds. I have hunted both for doves, but not waterfowl. As is the case with all hunting, weather is the determining factor on productivity each year.

I understand for Northern California they have some very good properties for waterfowl and quail. For Southern California I don't reccomend them. Their information sheets were out of date for a number of the properties we hunted for quail. A tad bit expensive for what we got for S. California, but could be good fo the Sacramento, and San Joaquin Valleys. Herb

I assume that this is one of those deals where they have leased up a bunch of ground that not too many years ago, we could have hunted for the asking? Now they want to charge people for the privelege and screw the rancher. We still have some ground in rice near Colusa, 1700+ acres. I dont know how that is being administered, since the Uncles have hired a "Ranch Manager". We, for years participated in a pheasant co-op program, run by ranchers where a fee was charged for hunting, and ALL of the proceeds went into habitat and bird rearing. The fee was 125.00 bucks and worth it. Limit was 1000 hunters....Ah Yes, The good old days! Guess I better call Uncle Clive and see whats going on...I HATE outfits like that!

They came out of the old American Sportsmans Club and have some of their old properties. I worked for ASC back in the late 70's.
