I need a tang screw for my Lefever DS 16. It's my first sidelock and I can't shoot it. It's killing me. Does anyone have any ideas where I can find one?

You might have to resort to buying a "kit" of screw blanks from Brownells and the proper die to thread it after cutting to the proper length. The head of the screw will also need to be fitted. There can be a lot of work involved in making a single screw, that's why a gun gunsmith has to charge so much to make one.

Let SKB do the job. In the end he will save you both time and money and his work is first rate. Just my two cents worth.

You will get a much better/professional job and not regret the cost by going with SKB. Kit screws quite often require work & seldom have the same pleasing results. Also, you can't just buy one screw --- and there's the tap and tap wrench cost as well. FWIW, Ken
