I just bought a new Remington 1100 in 28 ga for my juniors to use.
The recoil pad does not slide on the shooting jacket as it is too grabby and we do not shoot gun up. I can use electrical tape of course but I'd like to do something better. Any ideas, folks?

Yep; practice your gun mount with that sticky pad until it's no longer an issue( move the leading hand first )and you'll be a better shot as a result.

Use ArmorAll or other rubber/vinyl dressing sold for automotive use. Anything from Meguiar's, Mother's, LRV, etc. should work just fine.

Wow!! And here I thought a pad was supposed to stick to your shoulder. I guess you learn something new every day!! I think Mike has it right. And if you really want to learn how to shoot, lay a laser light in the muzzle end of the barrel, and practice pointing at an object on the wall when you mount the gun.

Grabby is good. Competition shooters put non stick surfaces on their pads so they don't slip. Even low gun shooters want the pad to stick once it gets on the shoulder. Mike is correct.

If you are teaching them low gun, the only way for them to learn is to "throw" the gun outward and bring in into the shoulder. After a few hundred times it becomes natural. your eyes are on the target and your gun is being mounted all in one fluid motion. Sliding the gun up into place is bad, mainly because of the different clothes, plus is not the right way.
