If you are teaching them low gun, the only way for them to learn is to "throw" the gun outward and bring in into the shoulder. After a few hundred times it becomes natural. your eyes are on the target and your gun is being mounted all in one fluid motion. Sliding the gun up into place is bad, mainly because of the different clothes, plus is not the right way.
