I was gonna get a close up pic of the frame w/o the slide that shows the metal was ripped from the frame ... then I remembered a guy broke in Thurs and stole my camera, my Marlin 22 lever, $1000 of coins, and my kids play station. Could have been much worse ... thank you gun safe. I hugged my safe, then my wife, when I got home.
If you look at the schematic parts break down, the missing piece is shown as an integral part of the frame sticking up at the rear... not a part of the slide, and not a separate piece.
I decided not to ship the frame without an FFL on the other end, buyer didn't like it, but hey, we can't all be happy campers. I shipped all the other parts and told him to return them if he wanted.
I appreciate all the opinions and information shared. I wanted to get direction on whether a "Destroyed" frame could be shipped without an FFL or not. If yes, then address the how bad is it question.
If you have one, pull the slide and have a look see. Mine's gone, but it looks like the metal on the frame was ripped when it left town.
BTW, that a real beauty of an engraved Colt there. yum yum.
