Come on now Jim, that remark was uncalled for. I'm no expert in my own mind, and that's exactly why I posted that remark. I'm not an expert nor are you or anyone else here that isn't a BATF agent. I'm not trying to be a wise ass and you have my intentions all wrong.
So, our friend C.R. Sides should go ahead and do the transfer. If he gets into some trouble with the BATF he should tell them that italiansxs on the doublegunshop.com said he once saw the BATF ignore a table full of damaged .22 receivers at some gun show so he didn't think it would be a problem.... I wouldn't want to bet on that strategy.
Again, I'm no expert in my own mind, which is exactly why Jim should call the BATF, get the facts from them, write down who tells him what, and proceed from there. If C.R. gets bad info from a BATF agent and it's documented, end of story.
