The hole looks very much like the hole you have after removeing the fireing pin retainer on many 25autos and thats why I asked the model.To me from the pic it just looks like a missing part.
that's EXACTLY all that is. the firing pin is missing and it's missing from the SLIDE, not the FRAME. the frame is the part that carries the serial # and on that gun is totally undamaged. the slide is nothing to the atf. it's a part. that can go thru the mail or anything else. you try sending that w/o going thru a dealer and if you're caught it's a trip to jail and/or a bad fine.
the part of the gun that the ATF considers to be the "gun" varies from action type to action type. but this gun is missing nothing but a couple of inconsequential (to ATF) parts from yet another inconsequential part.
