GC, Have you tried taking the lead tape off after it has been on a while to see if it affected the bluing? I like your idea but am curious how it will affect the bluing.
Thanks

Classicioi - I've had the same thought, but think it will be ok. I did this more than a few years ago and haven't touched the tape since. I don't think the adhesive will affect the bluing ... expect a solvent will safely remove residue left behind when the tape is removed. And if I'm wrong, I'd just as soon not know until I have reason to remove the tape other than my morbid curiosity! Jay

I love shooting the 28 ga. Parker Repro. I shoot quail with the 26" IC/M and pheasants with the 28" M/F. I don't notice much difference with either barrel set. I would like to purchase another if anyone comes across one for sale. You won't go wrong with this gun.

Erik, i have a 20 ga repro. with 26" Quail 1 and 2 chokes and sst. It has 15" length of pull over skeleton butt!I guess they put double trigger stock on it ,giving the long length of pull. Bobby

I'm surprised at the replies.
Given the general malaise associated with 26" barreled guns, Parkers in particular, I thought every reply would have been "The 28" barrels are God-like perfection and the 26" barrels are best left in garbage can".

Looks like you are caught up in the "McIntosh" 28 inch paradime.

Not me. I have my share of 26" guns and love them all as much as their more well-endowed brothers.

It looks like we may soon see a spike in the asking/selling prices of 26" Parker Repros when the word gets out these stubby barreled guns truly are a joy to carry and shoot...better buy 'em now while they're still affordable!

Heavy Hilda always told our group that she hardly notices another two inches.
