The recent microbial analysis of the M21 for sale IN HIS AD was just embarrassing. I know Jim Legg proposed and lost the vote for locking out replies, but sheesh, let someone sell their wares without critiquing it on his space, especially the nose pickers that never would have bought it anyway. The term 'using up someone elses oxygen' comes to mind.
I understand the free speach thing so why wouldn't the nose pickers and tire kickers just post on this side of the forum? Heck the thread it turned into cluttered it up so much you could barely tell what was for sale and how much. It's like knocking on the door of a house in the country after your car breaks down and critiquing the meal you interupted and weren't even going to eat anyway. Give it a break guys.

Chuck, I never ever read the used guns for sale here - and would never ever put one of mine up for sale. I'm not about to throw myself into the snake pit.

Truly a banner day for the phart smellers but a few "bugs" on the seller also as he's a willing participant in the "market study".

Very well said, Chuck. A quick look at any of the ads with more than 1 or 2 replies shows that we have a few(only a few) rude blabbermouths who insist on trashing a for sale ad. So long as this inconsiderate behavior is tolerated I will not list anything on the "for sale" section. However, since I am a well-known liar and thief it probably won't bother anyone very much.

If you are honest, accurately describe your gun and follow through on the deal like a gentleman, who cares what is posted below your ad? You guys protest too much. There are idiots in all enterprises and undertakings in life including the selling and trading of guns. Relax!

Chuck, As normal your spot-on with your assessment of a situation. I did post on this particular gun and did so reluctantly because I saw this member being given some advice of what to do with his gun and I thought it prudent to give him some food for thought before he consigned it to a big box dealer.
I voted for keeping the comments on the for sale section, but only because the PM feature on this site doesn't work most of the time. After this recent MDL-21 fiasco I would sure vote the other way!!!
I've been considering selling a couple of guns and I would like to give the members here first crack at them, but with what's going on currently. I'll be real hesitant to do so.
Maybe Dave could reconsider and drop the comment section?

Should rename to "for sale by owners and criticism by trolls section". A few post are positive but most are just dribble and fluff.

What a nightmare! I thought LG had somehow escaped from my "ignore" list. Finally realized I was not logged in. Whew! For a mnute there it looked like a giant step backward. Asking for courtesy from the usual suspects is a guaranteed way to get for more of their pathological rudeness. With the ignore feature you don't have to read their crap but it still clutters up the classified section. People who advertise items for sale should list their contact information in their profile. That means e-mail address and/or phone number. Not listing either automatically adds several more unnecessary comments to each classified listing. To Bob: I am relaxed. Rudeness is still rudeness and should not be allowed.
