Was looking thru some papers for another gun image and ran across this mailer. Got me to wonder what became of these Navy guns?? Anyone seen a martial marked Lefever like this?

The ones I've seen are 12-gauge.

I like the statement "Up to 25yds it's Deadly, Beyond that distance it's Dangerous", to fur or feather.

I've 12's and 16's used for gunner training. Maybe the .410 was for in cockpits in case of being shot down.

Did the Navy field any kind of team in shotgun sports during this era? This ad doesn't really read to me like they were using it for training or as a weapon.

The 2nd paragraph of the lower part of the add states that the Navy uses Lefever's. It does not state the the Navy uses the .410 Lefever.

At the time of this flyer, 1926 when the .410-bores were added to Ithaca's double gun offerings, the loads available were 3/10 of an ounce in the 2-inch shell and 3/8 of an ounce in the 2 1/2 inch shell. The 3-inch shell with 3/4 ounce of shot was six years away.

Before 1926 I am sure that 3/8oz. 2" loads were available along with 1/2oz. shot in 2-1/2" shells.
Still, has anyone run across one of the Navy .410 Lefevers?
