Skip,
It was a crisp 55 at day break this morning - perfect for a light coat. By 8:30 though we had stripped them off as it quickly warmed up well into the 80s. We hunted from very simple ground "blinds" today - camouflaged netting used as a blanket the top of the hunters laying on a tarp or matt.
My son is not shooting the big 10 yet :-). (The Daly is almost 11 lbs so it will be a few more years until her gets to try that one out.) He enjoys his role with the hunt group as the "flagger" and the "retriever" and takes his job seriously. We are currently shooting the pellet rifle and .22 together quite a bit. As he matures, we'll work the shotgun into the mix. I'm just excited he wants to hunt. He popped out of bed this morning at 4:00 am when I woke him. The best fun was listening to the excitement in his voice as he described the hunt to his younger sister and mom later in the day.
