Will, It sounds like you spent a little time here, well I am a local musician, and I used to have the band "Binky and the Velvets", 1961 to 1988, and we played for Floyd's wedding reception, and I have played in his band on a few occasions. Floyd is still around and still singing, but mostly in outlying areas...not many gigs left here in BR. I now play with "Leroy Davis and FoxFire", who depending on when you were here, was Floyd's guitar player and front man for over 13 yrs. binko

I am happy to hear you are OK, binko. Wow!! Can you believe it has been three years already since Katrina hit New Orleans. It seems like only last month that President Bush was flying over Louisiana to survey what Katrina did to New Orleans. OH!! Wait a minute!! It was last month!! LOL!!

On a serious note, I never could understand why people would want to live in a bowl below sea level in a place like New Orleans. Then after a Katrina comes along, they move right back into the same situation. Kind of like the people who live near here along the Ohio River. About once every five years years they get washed out and then they move right back to where they were and build a new home in the same spot. It would only take once for me to loose everything I own. The worse part about it is the Federal Government keeps giving them money every time to move right back where they were. We pay for that plus rising insurance premiums for them. It should be a one time deal and then the people should pay for their own loss after that. This gets old for the average taxpayer. It sure does cut into my gun buying money.

Jim,
I guess you could make that same case for Californians, earthquakes; Kansans, Tornadoes; skiers, avalanches; smokers, health problems, etc., I guess we are just creatures of habit, no matter the consequences.
