I have a 12 ga O/U w/double trigers and solid rib returned from Germany during WWII. The markings on the barrel include Special - Gewehr - Lauf - Stahl and, after a (3) double ring group, Fried. Krupp.A.G. and under the Krupp name is Essen. The serial number on the bottom of the barrel is #303416. It is in 90% condition. No rust in or out, very good blueing and wood finish. I would like to know as much about this weapon as possible. Can anyone help?

Krupp was the steel maker that the barrels were made out of. It would help if you could post pictures of the gun as well as all the proofmarks.
Special = Special Gewehr = Rifle Lauf = Barrel Stahl = Steel

Cools:
A guess would be it sounds like a Sauer Model 33 from circa 1940. Is the serial number on the left side of the rear barrel lug?
Kind Regards,

MichaelPetrov is correct. Krupp was a very famous cannon and steel maker prior to the end of WWII. Following WWII the company policy changed, and it forbids any kind of arms production. They are still highly regarded in the manufacturing of steel. We will need photos to identify your gun.

"Lauf - Stahl" translated is "barrel steel" Gewehr was a military rifle maker for Germany in WWII & Krupp was and still is headquartered in Essen, Germany.

I have photos of the shotgun, but can't / don't know how to post them on this site. If you want to give me an email address, I will email them to you.
