i'll have to actually measure one to see but i don't think the chamber ring is 1/4" long. i was thinking more like half that.

offerring to buy a gun from the owner when it's on consignment on a dealers rack while you're in the dealers place of business i'd consider pretty bad form. rude, actually. and drastically low-balled offers always have a negative effect on me and unless my family is starving and we need the money that buyer won't be getting it at all.
