How portable do you need it to be?

I was lucky to find an electronic scale of the type used in a deli for weighing sliced meat, etc. It's super accurate and easy to use. Has a limit of 20 lbs. Of course, it's the "desktop" model, not a "laptop". In terms of portability, it's box is a bit larger than the size of a box for a large pair of hunting boots.
