No question that is an absolutely fantastic job, I guess the chap wanted to keep originality or didn't have insurance...

If it had been me, for the extra involved, I would have asked you to re-stock the gun in a piece of gorgeous new piece of exhibition grade Turkish / French built to my dimensions with an all wood stock - but thats me - unfortunately a repair like that would niggle away at me worrying about what the future may be for it...

I know my concerns would be unfounded, but unfortunatley thats the way my brain works.

Coming back to original integrity what is worse - a heavily repaired stock that is no longer original (and can be identified when the lockwork is removed), or a new full length (original spec i.e. not cut down etc) stock. I know where I would spend my money.

Please this is in absolutely no way detracting from CrossedChisles workmanship which is beyond reproach.
