Mike- I wonder how our resident engraving artisan Ken Hurst would rate the engraving of the pre-Titanic American vintage doubleguns: Parker, L.C. Smith, A.H. Fox, Ithaca, Uncle Dan LeFever and Baker-grade for grade to make a level playing field. A friend won a 12 ga. M21 that had been "upgraded by Pachmyer" with dummy sideplates, inlays, fancy scoll work- one of 50 guns Mr. P donated to DU a few years back- apparently one for each State. Lipstick on a pig? No, more like Patton's comment about a fancy New Orleans bordello with the red tapestries I'd guess- gun was valued at $20K when he won it- on a $50 ticket- had to pay the IRS for the "gain" just as with a winning "Powerballs" ticket-and still can't find a buyer near the $20K figure- too fancy to take to the duck marsh- too valuable to take to the skeet club- life can be a bitch I guess (Hillary included)!!
