Chris, Some years back while I was traveling through Vt.I found a shop on Rt.7. There was a Lefever in the rack I picked up. It was a 20ga. damascus gun. Plain Jane receiver with no other engraving on it except for the plates. Which looked just like yours. Right down to the Ithaca NY. in the straight ribbon. The rest of the gun was a bit tired and the asking price of $1100.00 was more than I had. There are not many of these things out there.
I only know of three others. So I have to ask. Are those plates for a 12ga.or smaller?

These plates appear to be new or near new. The cc is vivid and there is a varnish protecting them. I see no marks indicating they were even installed on a gun. But that's not to say they weren't installed, why else would they have been made and engraved.
I don't know what gage gun they would be off of. I don't know if there is a difference in size between 20 ga and 12 ga plates.
I know some of the late Ithaca assembled guns were a mixture of parts that didn't follow typical grade designations. Maybe the gun you saw was one of them.
