So where's the picture Ben?

You know how much I love the 1878 Borchardt.

Ben,

What caliber is the one in the picture? Is this another turtle rifle? I kinda like the '78 lever...it gets the job done without getting in the way, unlike the ones on a lot of SS rifles.

Harry, how's your scratch-build coming along? Should be about time to post another batch of photos.

Hello Ben,

I've found, that if you wait long enought the picture eventually appears. Right, in answer to your question, there's no way you can improve the trigger guard form, it's already perfect.

Greg, Ben's picture appears to be a standard .45/70 Military action which someone has modified, by removing the sling attachment, rebarrelling and re stocking. I presume that because 'Scope Blocks' have been added it has been converted to some needle-blowing varmint calibre. lol.

My own Borchardt copy is progressing, albeit slowly. All the action body internal machining has been finished and I am now working of the external contours of the action. I am making a small number of special cutting tools I need that cannot be purchased. I am also planning making the Sharps style vernier sights.

Some four pages of pictures can be seen here:-

I'm a bit behind in posting pictures, I hope to remedy that soon.

Regards,

Harry
