Terminology a bit different from what we usually hear, JC, but I translate "standing drill" as stationary drill press providing unvarying axial alignment due to clamping or fixturing of the action bar in a milling vise or at least in relation to a table normal to the centerline of quill and chuck, "downward pressure with other hand" as force against the screwdriver bit maintained by the mechanical advantage of long drill press handles driving the quill downward, "grab the bit" as wrench or vice grip on the shank of the screwdriver bit, ideally a square-shanked example. I couldn't do a thing with JMTC??
