Easiest way??? Take it down to a gunsmith qualified to work on Parkers hand it to him and say, "Here, fix it"

Binko,

without buggering the slot?

A method I have used with stuck screws on the action of oldish Simsons is to grind a
proper turn screw blade that you can insert into your standing drill. Then fix the action
under the drill bit (no guys, he doesn't have to turn the drill on) and lower the bit
until you have the blade properly set into the screw head; then grab the bit and turn
it while you exert reasonable downward pressure with your other hand.
Did I explain myself? I don't know if this should work on the pivot pin screw, but at
least you won't bugger it. JMTC

Terminology a bit different from what we usually hear, JC, but I translate "standing drill" as stationary drill press providing unvarying axial alignment due to clamping or fixturing of the action bar in a milling vise or at least in relation to a table normal to the centerline of quill and chuck, "downward pressure with other hand" as force against the screwdriver bit maintained by the mechanical advantage of long drill press handles driving the quill downward, "grab the bit" as wrench or vice grip on the shank of the screwdriver bit, ideally a square-shanked example. I couldn't do a thing with JMTC??
