Had a number of Ruger clones as well as a 2nd and 3rd gen Colt. 2nd gen was the best I've had. Rugers were utilitarian. Don't know about the USFA guns but for what was said here and other magazines.

I suppose it's not unlike the 1911 type issues. Colt made some really poor 1911 guns over the yrs and yet they still retain/grow value better than most of the others.

If you want the best single action made buy the Freedom Arms. I've got a Colt and a FA 83 and a FA 97. The fit and feel of the FA blows the Colt away.

If you want a collectible Colt for a bit of shooting, buy a lightly used gun and let the original purchaser take the "hit".
