It may have been August Schoverling that had the connections in Germany: http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-fre...amp;oref=slogin (Steamship Mosel from Bremen, 8th line) to Bremen: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bremen ) . If that is our A. Schoverling and I can't say if he was a Man of the Cloth and a firearms merchant. Drew may have to answer if that is possible.

August Schoverling in 1880 had a 2 story house built and there is a Schoverling Mansion in NY and I think it to be a landmark but I can't say if August Schoverling was the owner of the Schoverling Mansion.

A. Schoverling did have connections in Belgium: http://www.google.com/patents?id=1q5nAAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&zoom=4&dq=a.+schoverling .

Kind Regards,
